Are three games on network TV in one day too much football nine, ten hours straight of football “on the tube” more than one man – or woman – can take? No way for true fans of the NFL. It’s probably not enough. And that’s what makes Sunday Night Football so special. It keeps the weekend alive and exciting holds back the new workweek for a few more hours and that makes it the best game of the day – every Sunday. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the NFL schedules BIG TIME GAMES for most Sunday Nights.
Consider the upcoming schedule for SNF. Week #1 gives football fans all across America the chance to see if Jay Cutler is “the real deal” as the Bears take on arch-rival Green Bay. That’s a great way to kick off a season of Sunday night games, but it gets even better Just look at what’s waiting for you in Week#2. It’s one of the great rivalries in all of football – Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants. You read it right: America’s team against Big Blue … two teams that truly despise each other. Week #3 offers more great football – Peyton Manning and his Colts against Super Bowl runner-up Arizona. It looks like another great game to enjoy with a bag of chips and an ice-cold six-pack. But wait. It gets even better.
As September eases into October, the NFL gives its fans a reason to stay home on Sunday night, October 4th. That’s when the Super Bowl champs, the Steelers, take on the very dangerous Chargers in a game where weather may already be a factor. Week after week, NFL Sunday Night games promise to be entertaining, exciting and worth watching. The question for many NFL fans is are the games worth betting. The answer is simple: if you enjoy the added thrill that most people get when they bet on football, than – Yes – the games are worth an investment. Of course, the “spread” is a key factor in how you’re going to bet on a game and which team you’re going to bet on.
