Sounds rather contradictory.

Thank goodness I dont have to do press conferences. I'd make plenty of amusing statements like that one !

Sounds as if Dave is sorted - and not with Charlton.

"Former Milton Keynes keeper David Martin was in the directors’ box at The Valley on Saturday and has trained with the Addicks over the summer.

“I think he is generally fixed up with what he wants to do,” said Robinson. “He’s a local boy, so he’s come and trained here because he knows the quality we have got.

“He felt he could improve in a short period of time before he made a decision. He’s been a number one for six-and-a-half years, it’s not like I don’t know what he can do.

“He knows what the next step of his career will be."

Is there any news of him?

Bit of a shame if he's still without a club.

Why is it a shame? Obviously means he's not good enough

You would have thought he'd have found a club by now.

He's made it known before that he wants Championship football, maybe he couldn't get what he wanted there.

But definitely a very good keeper for L1, would think plenty of clubs would have been interested, although could be a wages issue. Was one of our top earners, probably only half a dozen or so clubs that would be able to meet them.

Of course it's a shame. A person we like and enjoyed watching is potentially out of work.

He discovered Colchester and Gillingham weren't in the Championship.

One of our longest serving players with over 300 appearances over 9 years.

He could be a bit clumsy at times but he was mostly a stalwart between the posts.

Surely a bit of gratitude his way is deserved.
