I've often passed by it on my bike.....That round concrete structure at the 'bottom left' of the tear drop lake next to Loughton. Yes I know it depends where you are standing but if you have your back to the dual carriageway on Childs Way....what is it?
There's a (locked) door on the side and it looks to have a concrete roof. There's no 'warning signs' e.g. electricity on it.
We wonders precious. Oh yes we wonders. :-? :-?

It's part of the city wide flood control system, relaying water levels to the control centre in the sewage works and controlling the sliding gates in the outlets to the various flood storage lakes. (The cruise missiles are in submarines under the lake surface)
