The season before we went up everyone (myself included) wanted robbo out cause of the shit position we finished. We had higher expectation then too cause we finished in the play offs so many times before. Did he get sacked? No. Did we go up next season? Yes.

I have said this so many times. Be realistic. We are a mid table team and where are we in the league? Mid table. Saturday is a much bigger deal for me and one that if we don't win then we need to look at ourselves.

I'm with you on that one. Another unconvincing performance, and even worse, a defeat to Rochdale and that will speak volumes.

Perhaps we are a mid-table team. I just wish Neilson, Winkie, the players etc would stop promoting this idea that we are serious contenders to go up. Not saying they should say we are a mid-table team, just tone down the vocal ambition and be a tad more realistic - less "winning the league is our aim" (Neilson actually said that a couple of months ago) and more "we're going to give it a decent go".

They have to say it cause some of the dribbling fools on here would have a heart attack. Of course we would like promotion and I am sure Brighton would love to win the prem, but neither of them are likely to happen

Yes, but the Brighton hierarchy aren't going around saying how they are going to come top 4. They are being more realistic and clever about what they say. I like RN still, but I do agree with the post above about the need for more realistic soundbites.

OK look at Everton. They are currently 16th with 4 points and on their forum they don't blame the manager for failure to replace Lukaku, they blame him for the dull football, but not the signings. They say that the board didn't back Koeman enough in a bid to satisfactorily replace Lukaku. Their aim was top 4 and it isn't going to happen, yet the fans back the manager. All I am saying is every club wants to win the league they are in and/or get promoted. If you didn't then you shouldn't be a team. It is expectation vs realism that annoys me about our fan base. It is like we have a god given right to be in the play-offs. What would you lot think if Neilson was like fuck it we will finish mid-table, maybe lower. You lot would have kittens.

think we are still in the process of building the team up. As yet we have not had an identified first eleven starting on a regular basis because of injuries, and players coming back to fitness as a result of previous injuries or not having being on the side lines in their previous team.
The team also has some younger players who need to be managed carefully with regard to their playing time. So hopefully we will get better as more players get back to full fitness and the Manager can't speed up this process, so why is he getting the blame.
we are only 7 games in and it is a long season so still feel positive about the future.

Neilsons tactics are defensive, don't expect expansive free flowing football, defend and lob long balls over the top, that's why he bought Sow....

I don't by that building up fitness levels, other teams don't have that problem, posh don't have a problem with fitness levels,

Same applies to "gelling as a team". If there was a case to answer for that, that time has come and gone now we are getting into the season.

There are simply no excuses now. This squad Neilson has built was meant to (in his eyes I'm sure, not just supporters) be challenging at the top.

I'm going to stick with what I said in August - if we're not in the top half by the end of September then I'm afraid I'll be on the Neilson out train, and I'm sure I won't be the only one by then.

Don't be an absolute fool. We are shit. We have been for 3 seasons now. What is sacking neilson that soon going to achieve? who is going to replace him? Its not like they are going to change the players cause nothing can happen till Jan.

Be honest until we have physical money to spend we will always be a mid table team. We were never going to beat posh based on form and ability so why crap yourselves? Lose to Rochdale on Saturday and that is a different matter.

Technically only about 3% of the money supply is physical; the rest is electronic. :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
Agree with you about Rochdale of course.
